Feeling childlike on this spider cookie! This recipe is also quick and easy to make. Just mix everything and take it straight into the oven.
INGREDIENT
1 ¼ cups margarine, softened
2 cups white sugar
⅛ teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
chocolate candy spheres
decorative candy eyeballs
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
*Preheat the oven to 350°F. *Line baking sheets with baking parchment.
Step 2
*In a mixing bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer until fluffy. *Cream sugar and salt. Mix it until creamy and well combined. *Mix 1 egg at a time into the mixture until fully incorporated.
Step 3
*Gradually sift the flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda into the mixing bowl. *Stir the ingredient and mix completely incorporated into dough forms.
Step 4
*Divide and shape dough into even balls. *Ensure the balls are spaced well apart on the baking sheet. *Make a round indent in the middle of each cookie using the chocolate candy spheres.
Step 5
*Bake in the preheated oven, and cook for about 8-9 mins, or until the top looks dry. *Let the cookies cool for 5 mins. *Transfer them to a wire rack.
Step 6
*Melt the chocolate chips. *Spoon the melted chocolate into a ziplock bag.
Step 7
*Gently press the chocolate candy spheres into the indent of each cookie. *Clip a tiny piece of the corner of the ziplock bag. *Squeeze the melted chocolate to pipe and draw spider legs. *Add decorative candy eyeballs for spider eyes.
